Job Description As part of the team at our customers site they are looking for a candidate who would be responsible : analysis, prediction, and mitigation of spacecraft charging phenomena – both external and internal — and the associated risks of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) on spacecrafts operating in GEO orbits. The role ensures compliance with environmental and EMC design requirements and supports the full development lifecycle from early design to qualification and in‑orbit operations. Qualifications You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience: University degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification with relevant experience; At least 2 years of experience on the requested discipline Experience with external surface charging analysis of external spacecraft areas (antennas, solar panels, MLI, dielectric surfaces) Experience with internal charging analysis within dielectrics, cavities, harness routing zones Experience in ESD/EMC protection strategies for harnesses, subsystems, solar arrays, antennas and dielectric surfaces in general Knowledge of plasma interaction theory and induced effects, electrostatic potential distribution, emission/collection processes (photoemission, secondary electron emission), and radiation-induced conductivity effects Familiarity with Space Standards (e.g. ECSS-E-ST-20-07C/-20-06C, MIL-STD-461G) Capability to oversee grounding and bonding architectures Capability to draft and evaluate documentation pertaining to charging/ESD verification tests at equipment, subsystem and system level Good attitude towards teaming and multi-disciplinary approaches Experience with Institutional Programs in the Space Field Full comprehensive capability of Windows Office package Fluency in English and Italian is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
