Description
The Leidos Space Exploration and Mission Operations division has an opening for a Space Operations Cloud Architect to support Leidos ground operations systems for space based research and exploration missions. This position is located in our Houston, Texas office location.
The Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure cloud solutions. The successful candidate will provide strategy and design for a comprehensive cloud architecture strategy that aligns with connecting data systems from space mission ground stations to end-users.
Responsibilities:
- Design cloud architectures that are secure, scalable, and resilient.
- Develop new cloud-native platform services spanning all three major cloud environments, primarily focusing on AWS and scalable to cloud-hybrid as needed.
- Integrate cloud-managed AI and data services with other applications across the Leidos Space Exploration Mission Operations division.
- Develop best practices for application development and promote them within the organization.
- Write quality code and provide quality, engaged code reviews for peers.
- Identify opportunities to abstract prospective project requirements and develop enterprise-grade, multi-tenant platform services.
- Work directly with Leidos Network Operations Managers interacting with various ground station communities (NASA, DNS, NSN, and various commercial providers).
- Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance controls that fall within Leidos and NASA policies (NPR 7120.5, NPR 7150.2, etc.). Ensure that all cloud systems are secure and adhere to relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations, continuously monitor and optimize cloud resources to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services. Provide guidance and support to team members on cloud best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance our cloud infrastructure
