As our wireless technologies are constantly evolving and winning multiple awards, with funding for next phase secured, and commercial traction demonstrated, we are now looking to on-board a talented Space Systems Engineer. Tasks Elaborate the Operational and Demo Mission Statements in terms of identification and characterization of the mission needs, expected performance, dependability and safety goals and mission operating constraints with respect to the physical and operational environment and develop the first issue of the functional specifications. Maintain the SRD. Analyse the orbital effects on the mission and optimize the final orbits, taking into account practical considerations. Perform detailed mission analyses to define the orbit and constellation. Investigation regarding the launch possibilities Confirm compliancy to regulations, perform mission analysis, produce subsystems budgets and specifications. Define subsystems specifications and basic design Produce system budgets (link budget, mass budget, power budget .. etc.). Manage industry procurement process and define/oversee all the test and integration activities. Design and develop the operations environment Design and specify the ground segment Troubleshoot space and ground tests and anomalies Analysis of the performance of the system and optimizing that. Identifying problems and investigating their cause in the mission and system, and suggesting solutions. Simulation and tests of the mission and system components in lab or software or hardware or other environments. Writing requirements for the platform and ground segment design and development. Design, analysis, development, simulation, and testing of the space segment. Interfacing with the satellite manufacturer, ground segment and earth station operators, customers, research and government institutes. Coordination and planning of the mission and spacecraft procurement. Participation in customer demo campaigns. Interfacing with the telecom and payload system engineers for payload development. Research and development of algorithms for the spacecraft system. Design of interfaces of the system to other simulators. Responsible for writing project proposals, funding documents, contracts or bidding documents for customers Working with external partners, contractors, and research institutes. Proper documentation of all the technology development is a key task of the candidate Regular reporting of the follow-up of tasks. Perform project management tasks and act as the interface with external partners and/or ESA. Manage the risk register. Produce monthly progress reports to partners and/or ESA. Design and implement demo missions and manage the inputs form different platform/launcher/ground suppliers. Manage the procurement of different spacecraft missions. Responsible of overseeing AIT activities, qualification campaign and environmental tests. Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience with mechanical and/or electrical design of small satellite systems in industry or academia (title depends on seniority level). Experience with mechanical and/or electrical design AIT/AIV process of small satellite systems in industry or academia M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering or a similar qualification from a recognized institution. Knowledge of ECSS standards. Knowledge of spacecraft operations and related ground systems preferred Experience with CubeSat projects. Demonstrated project management experience. Self-starter who works with a sense of urgency. Ability to adapt to change in an entrepreneurial environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Proficiency in spoken and written English.
