Our ESSCA Team Leads serve as first line supervisors and oversee the Task Orders and personnel that support the requirements defined in the ESSCA Performance Work Statement, plus any additional skills that may be required as the ESSCA contract matures. They ensure that high performing people are acquired through disciplined human resources processes and are appropriately trained, developed, and perform to Amentum’s policy and standards. Team Leads are responsible for the proactive management of assigned Task Orders and personnel to ensure effective accomplishment of MSFC requirements.
This Team Lead position will be in the Spacecraft and Vehicles Systems to support the MSFC EV73 Systems Analysis and Human Systems Integration (HSI) Branch for the following area:
Position responsibilities include:
o Mass Properties Engineers, who are critical to the design, development, and operation of space flight vehicles by tracking and computing mass, centers of gravity, moments of inertia and products of inertia for space vehicles from the most detailed component levels all the way up to the integrated vehicle and its propellant inventory.
o Model and Simulation Integration Engineers, who are essential to the verification, validation, and credibility assessment of models and simulations used in NASA decision-making, particularly for design, development, and mission assurance. They apply NASA-STD-7009 to assess model credibility and ensure simulation-based evidence meets rigor expectations across disciplines such as structural, thermal, guidance and control, and mission design.
o Engineering Photographic Analysts, who provide niche technical expertise in photogrammetric imaging and flight imagery systems analysis for the Space Launch System (SLS). Their role is central to evaluating and improving the SLS Vehicle Imagery System (VIS), including assessment of camera placements, compression rates, and photo-marking strategies to ensure mission-critical measurements such as booster and fairing separation clearances.
Team Leads will provide support to ESSCA contract operations in the areas of:
A bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related field is required. Degree from an ABET accredited institution is desired. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D., with a minimum 11 years of experience, Masters with at least 13 years of experience, or BS with at least 15 years of experience.
The candidate is required to have outstanding technical and leadership qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
Technical and systems evaluation expertise in several of the following technical specialties is required:
