Description MACC Mission: The Mexican American Catholic College’s (MACC) mission is to empower and educate leaders for service in a culturally diverse Church and society by offering a biliterate, multicultural formation program that can lead to a college degree in Pastoral Ministry. Summary: This Spanish Language Teacher is essential to teaching a second language at the Mexican American Catholic College. The hired candidate will effectively and efficiently teach the Spanish language to their students. Requirements Position Responsibilities: Prepare for and effectively teach grammar, phonetics, typical conversation, as well as specialized pastoral conversation; Correct homework promptly and provide feedback for students; Provide tutoring for students as needed; Coordinate classes with other teachers; Attend daily or weekly (as necessary) teachers’ meetings; Contribute to long-term planning and curriculum development; Prepare evaluations or exit forms as requested at the end of each session; Keep attendance records; Conduct oral interviews of students at the beginning of each session; Attend liturgy and prayer with students; Attend weekly program department meetings. Adhering to safety training and protocols daily, and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of oneself and others. Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors' names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information. Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory. Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member who promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Education BA in Spanish or Education strongly preferred. Preferred Qualifications MA or MAT in Education preferred. Experience: Candidates should have experience in teaching a second language in a structured classroom setting. Candidates should have strong knowledge of teaching reading, writing, grammar, speaking, and pronunciation. Minimum Knowledge and Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish; Must be organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team; Knowledge in Transport Language Online preferred; Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church; Ability to develop professional relationships and work well with others in the MACC community; Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Suite applications; Must have good multitasking skills; Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and work well both independently and as a member of a team. Travel Requirements: No travel requirements for the position.
