Description Battery Park Montessori is hiring a Spanish-speaking Infant and Toddler Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year beginning August 1, 2026. Battery Park Montessori is a trilingual Montessori program with Spanish, Mandarin and English speaking teachers. ABOUT YOU You are knowledgeable about the Montessori curriculum and philosophy and are able to successfully employ highly effective teaching practices You love to create welcoming and stimulating learning environments for infants and toddlers You are experienced in creating works – that are in line with the philosophy – intended to specifically teach language. You enjoy collaborating with fellow teachers to co-create curriculum You are dedicated to internationalism and anti-bias teaching practices and maintain a positive school culture for everyone in the community You have exceptional communication skills with children, teachers and parents and a nurturing, supportive approach You are trustworthy flexible, and dependable You are fluent in Spanish ROLE OF THE MONTESSORI TODDLER TEACHER Create welcoming, functional, safe, attractive, de-cluttered, stimulating and physically comfortable learning environments Assist children during bathroom or hygiene-related activities Work with the team to establish classroom procedures and protocols and shared responsibilities across the school (i.e. laundry duty, pantry clean-up, library organization, etc.) Conduct parent information sessions, parent education events, and attend parent social events that build community – most of which take place in the evenings Maintain observation records of student assessment over the year Communicate with parents, both formally and informally Participate collaboratively in curriculum development, program planning, school evaluation processes, and other faculty meetings as required by the school administration Participate in in-service educational activities provided by the school and/or self-elected professional growth activities. Full Fluency in Spanish is required Strong oral and written communication skills Legally authorized to work now and in the future in the United States
Responsibilities
The teacher will create a safe, stimulating Montessori learning environment and facilitate student development through observation and assessment. They will also collaborate with the faculty on curriculum planning and maintain active communication with parents.
