OVERVIEW OF IMA:

Isthmus Montessori Academy is looking for highly qualified, dedicated, motivated, committed, and loving people to help our community grow for our 2025/2026 school year. IMA(P) currently serves infants, toddlers, primary, elementary and adolescent children, as well as offering Before and After School programs. The ideal candidate would demonstrate dedication, energy, patience, flexibility, dependability, and a love of working with and learning alongside children.
This full time position would work half time with adolescent and high school students and half time with elementary students, with some flexibility to do lessons or activities in Primary (3-5k) classrooms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• A valid certification or permit to teach language in the state of Wisconsin, or willingness to obtain certification or permit
• Possess an attitude that reflects a belief in the philosophy of the IMA organization
• Physically capable to work with children on the floor, stairs, and playground, as well as to lift materials, classroom furniture, and clean

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Create and maintain all lesson plans, instruction, and assessments for subject area
• Plans exciting and engaging instructional experiences that support the National standards and Montessori curriculum.
• Seeks to incorporate the Montessori philosophy in planning.
• Presents and reinforces concepts by helping students, individually and in groups, with lesson assignments.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in Montessori educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
