JOB DESCRIPTION FORM Position Title: Spanish Translation Coordinator (Part-Time) Date Prepared: April 2026 Reports to (position): Associate Pastor Department: Family of Churches Status: Part Time Salary (per worship service translation) Basic Purpose The Spanish Translation Coordinator supports Aspire Church’s mission by ensuring clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate communication between English and Spanish across worship services, ministry environments, and church communications. This role exists to remove language barriers so that Spanish-speaking individuals can fully engage in the life, discipleship pathway, and community of Aspire Church. Key Roles Translation & Interpretation (Primary Focus) • Provide real-time verbal interpretation (English ↔ Spanish) during worship services, meetings, and events • Translate written materials including sermons, announcements, emails, and ministry resources • Ensure translations convey meaning, tone, and cultural nuance—not just literal wording Ministry Communication Support • Partner with staff to prepare bilingual communications for church-wide and Spanish ministry initiatives • Assist in maintaining consistency in terminology, messaging, and discipleship language (Gather, Grow, Go) Service & Event Support • Support Sunday gatherings and key ministry events through translation and light coordination • Assist with basic preparation of materials needed for Spanish-speaking attendees Key Responsibilities • Translate weekly sermons • Provide live interpretation during designated services or gatherings • Collaborate with pastors and ministry leaders to ensure alignment in communication • Maintain organized files of translated resources for reuse and consistency Other Responsibilities • Attend necessary meetings to prepare for translation needs (limited and role-specific) • Support church-wide initiatives as needed through translation • Perform other translation-related duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge, and Other Success Factors • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) with strong translation proficiency • Demonstrated ability in real-time interpretation (simultaneous or consecutive preferred) • Strong grasp of tone, context, and cultural nuance in both languages • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in written work • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Basic proficiency with Microsoft 365 or similar tools • Ability to work flexible hours, including Sundays and occasional evenings Leadership & Behavioral Qualities • Growing, active relationship with Jesus Christ • Alignment with Aspire Church’s doctrine, mission, and values • Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated • Servant-hearted and team-oriented • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity • Adaptable and responsive in dynamic ministry environments Education & Experience • High school diploma required; college or ministry training preferred • Prior experience in translation or interpretation strongly preferred • Experience in church or ministry environments is beneficial This role is intentionally focused on translation and communication, with limited broader ministry responsibilities, making it well-suited for a part-time contributor with strong bilingual expertise.
