About the Role We are seeking a skilled Spanish Theological Content Editor to join our Translation Editorial Team. This role is responsible for ensuring linguistic precision, theological accuracy, and structural integrity across a wide range of academic and pastoral resources in Spanish. The Editor plays a key role in maintaining editorial quality within structured digital publishing environments, contributing to workflow optimization, quality assurance standards, and measurable productivity improvements. This position requires theological discernment, editorial judgment, and the ability to work within XML-based platforms without compromising content structure. Responsibilities Editorial & Theological Review Perform advanced editorial review of translated theological and academic texts. Ensure doctrinal accuracy, terminological consistency, and conceptual coherence. Preserve authorial intent while refining clarity, style, and readability in Spanish. Standardize abbreviations, citations, and references according to academic conventions. Apply internal style guides and editorial policies consistently across projects. Technical & Workflow Execution Edit content directly within structured XML environments while safeguarding code integrity. Conduct precise text-only searches within tagged content. Work across diverse text types, including biblical studies and related fields. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, production, and content teams. Participate in all stages of the editorial workflow: initial reading, translation review, editing, final review, and delivery. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Conduct final-stage reviews ensuring linguistic excellence and theological precision. Identify structural inconsistencies or systemic issues in large-scale projects. Contribute to terminology alignment and glossary consistency. Provide constructive feedback to editors and team members to elevate overall quality. Support initiatives aimed at improving editorial efficiency and increasing productivity metrics (e.g., delivery timelines, consistency rates, revision cycles). Contribute to the continuous refinement of editorial standards and workflows. Required Qualifications Mastery of Spanish grammar, syntax, and stylistics. Knowledge of theological terminology and biblical studies. Experience editing academic or theological texts. Ability to work within structured digital publishing environments (XML-based platforms preferred). High attention to detail and commitment to excellence. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English. English proficiency at B2 level or higher. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Linguistics, Translation, or a related field. Familiarity with digital publishing workflows and structured content environments. Experience working with online editing tools. Knowledge of academic citation systems and specialized abbreviations in biblical and theological literature. Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary, international teams.
