Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We’re seeking a Systems Administrator with deep expertise in SPARC-based hardware and Oracle Solaris operating systems. This Sydney-based role supports a secure infrastructure uplift for a national regulatory platform.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of mission-critical Solaris environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle SPARC servers and Solaris OS (Solaris 10/11).
  • Manage Solaris virtualisation (LDOMs, Zones) and ZFS file systems.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and kernel tuning.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
  • Implement Solaris security policies and hardening standards.
  • Support SAN/NAS storage configurations and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Automate system tasks using shell scripting.
  • Collaborate with application, network, and security teams.
