Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of musical instruments and pro audio gear is seeking to hire a Spec Data Specialist to join our Marketing Team! Are you detail-oriented and have a love for music gear? Then we’d love to speak with you!
Sweetwater is expanding our Product Specifications and Data team by adding Spec Data Specialists. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals to enter specification data into our growing product database. You will work closely with our manufacturer partners as well as our merchandising and content teams to prepare key data for product launches and help to refine existing products.
We’re seeking self-starters who work as well independently as they do in cross-functional teams. This role requires someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for digging deep to find the smallest of details.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-4 years experience working with data inside a content management system
  • BA/BS in related retail, communications, data, or music technology field
  • Ability to locate product content errors and make necessary corrections based on familiarity with types of products and brands
  • Understand basic elements of eCommerce and website navigation.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and understand structuring data
  • Extensive knowledge in music technology products, but especially Guitars, Basses, Guitar Amplifiers, Guitar Effects and related accessories.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Specific Music Retail data experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including v-lookups
  • Experience with SQL and capability to query databases for pertinent data
Responsibilities
  • Entering technical specs and product data into our inventory and content management systems with accuracy and following strict formats and guidelines.
  • Learning specific style formats and translating technical info from manufacturer copy into proper spec data for navigation and detail pages.
  • Understanding changes involving product data, proper category assignment, and inventory management system info.
  • Editing and updating large volumes of spec data according to the latest changes in product developments.
  • Communicating across departments and with manufacturers to confirm that correct technical info is present and up to date at all times.
  • Auditing product content across hundreds of diverse categories to ensure that technical specs, copy, and navigation data are consistent.
