  Summary  The Team Leader Special Assets Group (TLSAG) will oversee the Special Assets Portfolio under the direction of the Chief Credit Officer. The primary objective of the TLSAG will be to provide leadership, guidance and management to the Special Asset Portfolio (SAP’s) who are charged with the management and resolution of adversely classified loans.   This position will partner with the Lending personnel to assist with properly identifying deteriorating and transfer to the Special Assets Group. In addition, the officer is responsible for compliance with all applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal policies.    Responsibilities  * Workouts and rehabilitations: The primary objective is to maximize recovery to the bank and to protect the bank from additional or contingent liabilities through the prudent use of typical loan workout activities.  * Loan Portfolio Management: Ensure adherence to all written credit and workout policies in the implementation of workout strategies. * Credit Quality: Ensure proper risk rating is assigned to all credits on a timely basis. * Credit and Collateral Exceptions: Eliminate or reduce exception items by proper procedures and planning.  * Obtain all documentation that is required when analyzing extensions, renewals, restructures or other extensions of credit. * Accountable for achieving his/her team’s assigned criticized and classified loan reduction goals on a quarterly basis. * Ability to travel for 10-15%. * Protect all client and bank information confidentially and follow all company policies. * Understand, communicate, and instill the Company’s mission, vision, and values (Pillars of Success). * Complete monthly training in a timely manner to ensure knowledge of bank regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. * Working at the worksite during regular business hours and/or assigned hours. * Other specified duties as assigned.  Qualifications   Skills  * Thorough understanding and development of accounting policies and practices related to NPA’s, OREO, criticized, classified assets, and formulation of allowance for loan loss calculations, understanding and experience with FASB 114 and 105 accounting. * Excellent PC skills with an emphasis on MS Word and Excel, mainframe applications * Superior written and oral communication skills. * Specialty lending experience (i.e. Real Estate, C&I, Agriculture, Small Business, etc.) preferred. * Demonstrated sound background in all aspects of commercial, real estate and consumer lending; particularly credit structure and loan policy. * Expert knowledge of state and federal bankruptcy and collection laws and requirements.    Education & Experience  * Minimum of 10+ years progressive relevant Special Asset, Loan Workout and Credit Risk Management experience in banking. Experience must include a high level of success on strategies for disposing of OREO, and NPA’s while retaining the highest return to the Bank. * Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration or similar focus. Master’s degree preferred. * Management Experience in a credit quality environment. * Experience with regulatory agencies, third party loan review and internal/external auditors. * Experience with regulatory guidelines regarding appraisal/re-appraisals, and all other regulatory policies affecting classified/criticized assets.   Physical Requirements The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting.  The position is sedentary, involving sitting most of the workday; however, the position will involve moving about the workspace to reach entrances/exits, restrooms, conference rooms, or other areas within the work environment.  Reaching may be required involving the ability to move arms in any direction.  Office equipment, such as a computer and telephone, will be used requiring the ability to manipulate a keyboard, mouse, and/or keypad.  The ability to decipher a computer screen or written documents is necessary. The ability to express or exchange ideas; impart information to clients, coworkers, or the public; or to convey detailed or important instructions; is required. The ability to receive and understand detailed information shared through oral or written communication is required.
