Summary of Position The Special Assistant to the Head Football Coach is a pivotal role that dynamically supports programmatic success through leadership, strategy, and player development. This position requires a charismatic, team-focused individual with a proven coaching background—seasoned experience is highly valued. This is a stipend-paid, seasonal position. Job Details Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide direct support to the Head Coach with in-game strategy, analytics, and decision-making. Support player development initiatives, mentor athletes, and help them maximize their potential Utilize modern thinking proficiently for film breakdown, analytics, and game preparation. Contribute to scouting and comprehensive game planning for offense, defense, and special teams. Communicate effectively with coaches, players, and support staff to foster a positive team culture. Apply a thorough understanding of football rules to create a competitive advantage. Take on special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Coach. Oversee the student film crew to ensure high-quality game and practice footage for analysis. Requirements Qualifications: Prior coaching experience preferred Experience on both offense, defense, and special teams. Head coaching experience preferred Proficient in the Hudl Suite and modern football analytics techniques Strong scouting and game-planning skills Demonstrated player development mindset and mentoring ability Excellent verbal and written communication skills Charismatic, team-oriented, and highly collaborative Deep, instinctive knowledge of football rules and their strategic application This role is an exceptional opportunity for an individual to make a significant impact on the football program while working alongside a passionate and driven coaching staff.
