Responsibilities
  • Be a self-starter and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Perform welding tasks using techniques such as FCAW, GTAW, and SMAW based on project requirements and material specifications.
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and shaping metals to precise measurements.
  • Maintain all correct consumables, feeds, amperages and pre heat in accordance with applicable weld procedures.
  • Weld piping and components in sequence to eliminate shrinkage and distortion.
  • Remove tack welds, clean and restore weld preparations where required
  • Follow quality control systems and techniques
  • Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
  • Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and the safety of your co-workers;
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain and care for welding equipment, tools, and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management team, to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Keep detailed records of work performed: including Daily weld logs, Consumable logs, Workpacks and Weld maps.
  • Assist Pipefitters and Boilermakers as required in their duties.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new welding technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge
