BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A Special Education Teacher is sought for an elementary school setting to provide customized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role requires dedication to fostering an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students specific needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students with disabilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavioral data.
  • Promote positive behavior management techniques and support social-emotional development.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development related to special education best practices.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with elementary school students in a special education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
  • Ability to create adaptive lesson plans and use assistive technology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Assignment Duration: School Year (NSY), Contract Position
