MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

This opportunity is for an experienced Special Education Teacher to provide instruction and support for K-12 students in a Chicago-based school setting. The position is a contract role running from August 6, 2025, through June 8, 2026, designed for professionals who hold an LBS1 credential. The role offers a caseload that may include early elementary students, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and young adults aged 18-22.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instructional programs tailored to students individual learning needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to communicate student progress and needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation per regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Valid LBS1 certification or credential.
  • Experience working with diverse age groups including early elementary, ASD, and transition-aged students.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 35 hours per week, 5 days per week
