BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to serve students from 2nd grade through adult learners in a K-12 setting. The position is based in Vermont and involves working with a caseload of approximately 10-15 students with learning disabilities or challenges related to reading below grade level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with support staff including paraprofessionals and other specialists
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with families and team members

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license in Vermont
  • Experience working with students who have learning disabilities or significant reading challenges
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Location and Schedule:

  • Position located in Vermont, serving one school within the district
  • School day typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Contract duration from August 16 to June 13 for the upcoming school year
  • Virtual casual interview format with flexible scheduling options
