BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a K-12 school in Independence, KY for the upcoming contract school year starting August 26, 2025. This role focuses on providing support to students with multiple exceptional needs, fostering individualized learning plans, and promoting inclusive education in a dynamic classroom setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement instructional strategies tailored to students with diverse learning needs across K-12 grade levels
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create comprehensive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adjust teaching approaches accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state regulations regarding special education
  • Attend relevant team meetings and training sessions to stay current with special education best practices

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Kentucky teaching license and certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with students who have multiple exceptional needs
  • Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to student growth and collaboration with educational teams
