BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A Special Education Teacher is needed to provide specialized instructional support at an elementary school in Joliet, IL. This role focuses on delivering tailored education programs to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying special needs
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate students learning styles and abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student progress
  • Monitor and document student performance and behavior, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Support social and emotional development in addition to academic growth

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students requiring special education services
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal special education regulations
