Description

ARIZONA RESIDENTS WITH ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION CERTIFICATION ONLY.

What if special education could be revolutionary instead of just regulatory?
Unbound Academy has reimagined education from scratch. As Arizona’s pioneering virtual charter school, we’ve cracked the code: students complete core academics in just two hours daily through adaptive AI, opening afternoons for authentic, immersive learning experiences. Our educators aren’t lecturers—they’re mentors who facilitate dynamic workshops in entrepreneurship, storytelling, design, and wellness. We’re seeking a Special Education expert who can masterfully balance student coaching with precise IEP management.
This position calls for a versatile SPED professional. You’ve commanded your own classroom while simultaneously orchestrating the intricate dance of IEP development, updates, and coordination. You understand the delicate balance between compliance requirements and student-centered approaches. As an Arizona-based, fully certified educator, you’re driven by creating meaningful impact rather than checking administrative boxes. You’re passionate about preparing students for real-world success in a school that genuinely values this mission.
Ready to break free from bureaucracy and pioneer a fresh approach to Special Education? Here’s your opportunity to construct something extraordinary.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Current Arizona residency (non-negotiable)
  • Current and valid Arizona Special Education teaching credential
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in IEP development and management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accommodation coordination and special education compliance procedures
  • Verified experience working with middle childhood and early adolescent populations (ages 8-14)
  • Exceptional virtual communication abilities and comfortable confidence in front of the camera
  • Available to begin position by July 2025
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, technology-enhanced educational environment

THIS POSITION IS ALSO KNOWN AS:

  • Mentoring special education students individually and in intimate group settings to develop self-assurance, organizational skills, and autonomous learning abilities
  • Partnering with our educational team to continuously enhance our support framework for exceptional students

WHAT YOU WILL NOT BE DOING

  • Providing conventional academic content—our artificial intelligence tutoring system handles curriculum delivery
  • Operating disconnected from student experiences—you’ll be deeply embedded in their learning journey
