JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting curriculum, and utilizing various teaching strategies to support students’ academic and social development. The Special Education Teacher will work collaboratively with parents, staff, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student.

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Classroom experience working with children with disabilities is essential.
  • Experience in early childhood education or preschool settings is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and special education laws is required.
  • Knowledge of learning technology that supports special education is beneficial.
  • Experience in childcare or daycare settings can enhance understanding of childhood development principles.
  • Previous experience in private school environments or Montessori methods is advantageous. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to child welfare, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for teaching students with varying abilities.     Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in literacy education, math, physical education, and other subjects as needed.
  • Provide early intervention strategies for students requiring additional support in their learning journey.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior management strategies, and communication with parents.
  • Foster strong communication skills among students through various activities and interventions.
  • Support the social-emotional development of students by implementing behavioral health strategies.
