JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing tailored instructional strategies, and collaborating with families and support staff to ensure each student’s success.
Valid Mild to Moderate or Moderate to Severe Credentials for California.

SKILLS

• Strong classroom management skills to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with developmental disabilities.
• Proficient in curriculum development, lesson planning, and early childhood education methodologies
• Knowledge of behavioral management techniques and childhood development principles.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Familiarity with IEP processes and experience working directly with children in special education settings.
• Background in speech therapy, literacy education, behavioral health, or Montessori methods is advantageous.

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
• Design and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse learning styles of students.
• Provide speech therapy and behavioral therapy as needed, ensuring the holistic development of students.
• Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support student development and address any concerns.
• Engage in early intervention strategies for students requiring additional support in their learning journey.
• Incorporate learning technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and communication with families.
• Foster skills in literacy education, math, and physical education through creative lesson planning.
