Description
---------------------------------------- Dakota Memorial School (DMS) is a non-public school located on the campuses of Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch. DMS provides a specialized education for children in residential care at the Ranch, along with Day Students who come to us from the surrounding communities. The education faculty at DMS believe our greatest contribution is to be sure there is a teacher in every classroom who cares that every student, every day, learns and grows and feels like a real human being.   We are hiring a Special Education teacher to join our Dakota Memorial School team in the 2024-2025 school year.  While you may have thousands of reasons you choose to teach, teaching at DMS will give you opportunities to:   * Work one-on-one with the most vulnerable AND AMAZING kids in our state.   * Advocate for students beyond content.  * Develop meaningful relationships with students and staff. * Learn and practice Trauma-Sensitive Learning Strategies. * Teach using tools and strategies based on the latest in brain research. * Collaborate with on-site behavioral health experts passionate about helping Ranch kids live, learn, and heal. * Work in a faith-based organization where God is welcome in the classroom. * Grow and learn in an organizational culture based on purpose, caring, and learning.   The ideal candidate:   * Desires to make a difference in children’s lives through healthy modeling and relationships. * Embraces the importance of social/emotional learning. * Appreciates the value of collaboration.   Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch offers an excellent benefits package including paid holidays, as well as medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance coverages.  Employees participate in the cost of premiums with the option of purchasing additional coverage for dependents.  Our retirement 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan includes a 100% employer match up to 5%.  Voluntary benefits include vision coverage, short-term disability insurance, and term life insurance. Employees may also participate in a Section 125 Health Care/Dependent Care Reimbursement plan.   Compensation is dependent on years of experience.
