Check out the facility here: https://srb.bie.edu/ Contract Details / Hours / Shift: Government Contractor position, one base year with Extension options On-site at Santa Rosa Day School in Sells, Arizona Monday through Friday Core hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Arizona Time) Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Education or a related field from an accredited institution. Certification: Current Arizona Department of Public Education certificate and valid State Teacher certification for appropriate grade levels (K-6) with a Special Education endorsement. Experience: Demonstrated 3 + experience as a Special Education Teacher, including working with students with disabilities. Local Candidates accepted Previous Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) experience helpful Holidays and Benefits offered Key Responsibilities: • Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. • Collaborate with parents, school staff, and other professionals to support student success. • Participate in parent-teacher conferences each quarter. • Provide compensatory education services during the summer. • Utilize Schoology and other tools to support learning • Serve as Case Manager for assigned students, managing IEPs and documentation in NASIS • Lead and facilitate IEP meetings and collaborate with staff, families, and service providers • Ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to special education. • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and activities. • Support culturally responsive practices that reflect Native American communities. • Maintain consistent communication with parents and participate in conferences. • Must adhere to safety regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
