JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and experience working with children with diverse learning needs. This role involves creating and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs), fostering a supportive learning environment, and collaborating with parents and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree in Special Education or a related field is essential.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills are required to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with early childhood education principles is beneficial for those working with younger learners.
  • Proven ability in proofreading educational materials for clarity and accuracy.
  • Experience in childcare or preschool settings is advantageous, particularly for roles involving toddler care.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and assess individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Provide instruction in various subjects, including but not limited to speech therapy, math, and physical education.
  • Utilise behaviour management techniques to promote positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
  • Foster communication skills through interactive activities and targeted lessons.
  • Conduct tutoring sessions to support students in their academic growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to create a cohesive support system for students.
  • Engage in mentoring activities to guide students in their personal development.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
