JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a supportive, inclusive classroom that fosters academic achievement, independence, and social-emotional growth. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring each student’s unique strengths and challenges are met.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (required)
· Valid Special Education Credential or eligibility to obtain one (preferred)
· Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or other exceptionalities (preferred)
· Knowledge of early childhood education, inclusive practices, and Montessori methods is a plus
· Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
· Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
· Previous experience in a private school or physical education instruction is an advantage
· Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to students’ individual abilities and IEP goals
· Use specialized teaching strategies and tools to support students with disabilities, including autism and developmental delays
· Provide direct instruction in academic subjects and adaptive physical education, as appropriate
· Collaborate with general education staff to foster inclusive learning opportunities
· Work with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other service providers to integrate support strategies into classroom activities
· Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust instruction to ensure student progress
· Maintain detailed records of academic, behavioral, and developmental data
· Build strong relationships with families and maintain regular communication about student growth
· Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting and progress evaluations
· Engage in professional development to stay current on best practices in special education
