BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Provide specialized education in a functional life skills classroom for middle school students in a supportive, contract position based in Alexandria, VA. This role offers a structured environment with a small caseload and dedicated onsite support, ideal for professionals passionate about making a meaningful impact in special education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students’ functional life skills needs.
  • Collaborate with an instructional assistant to facilitate effective learning experiences.
  • Utilize adaptive curriculum strategies aligned with special education standards.
  • Track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  • Engage with a Special Education Advisor assigned to support professional growth during the first six months.

Qualifications:
