BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

An opportunity is available for a part-time Special Education Teacher supporting students with cognitive and behavioral challenges in grades 6-12. This position involves working within a K-12 educational setting focused on delivering specialized instruction and support. The role is designed as a contract position spanning the school year with an anticipated commitment of 15-20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students facing cognitive and behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to support classroom management and student engagement.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communication with families and staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with a focus on Special Education.
  • Experience working with students exhibiting cognitive and behavioral challenges.
