JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student while collaborating with families and other educators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education; IL LBS 1.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in childcare, early childhood education, and classroom management.
  • Familiarity with early intervention techniques and curriculum development strategies.
  • Ability to effectively teach math concepts at various levels, particularly for preschool-aged children.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and promoting their success in an inclusive educational setting.

    Pay: $61,280.00 - $83,762.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to create and review IEPs, ensuring that each student’s goals are met.

  • Facilitate tutoring sessions for students needing extra assistance in specific subjects, including preschool education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and curriculum development.
