Responsibilities
  • Assess students’ abilities and create teaching plans
  • Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress
  • Watch children’s behavioral patterns and determine appropriate interventions
  • Discover engaging activities to teach skills
  • Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict
  • Support other professionals who work with children with disabilities
  • Work with the support staff (e.g. school counselors and speech therapists) to create proper intervention plans
