Special Education Teacher (Middle School, Leave Coverage) – 2025–2026 School Year – In-Person
Hello Special Education Teachers,
Ampersand Therapy is hiring a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year in a middle school resource role (ELA focus). This is an in-person leave coverage position, and we’re looking for someone who is passionate about student success and ready to collaborate with a supportive school team.

Position Details

  • Schedule: Full-Time, 7:45 AM – 2:55 PM
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: Anticipated through early December (exact return date TBD)
  • Caseload: Approximately 13 students (6 to case manage)
  • Service Area: Middle School Resource, ELA focus
  • Format: In-Person, Single School Site

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to middle school students
  • Case manage IEPs for a small caseload
  • Attend IEP meetings and prepare documentation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and school teams
  • Participate in staff meetings and student support planning

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS-1 endorsement
  • Fingerprinting required prior to start
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience supporting middle school students with IEPs preferred
