JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role involves developing individualized education programs (IEPs), implementing tailored lesson plans, and utilizing various teaching strategies to promote academic and social success for students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience working with students in a special education setting is essential.
  • Background in early childhood education or experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various teaching methodologies including Montessori approaches is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with parents, staff, and external service providers.
  • Experience in behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of literacy education practices and experience in tutoring or mentoring students is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate different learning styles and abilities, focusing on literacy, math, and behavioral management.
  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.
