QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Moderate/Severe Disabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Prior experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities (preferred)
    Job Types: Full-time, Contract
    Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students with moderate to severe disabilities in a supportive and inclusive school environment. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about making a meaningful impact and creating a safe, engaging space for all learners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide specialized academic instruction to students with moderate/severe disabilities in both self-contained and inclusive classroom settings.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team.
  • Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet each student’s individual needs and learning styles.
  • Create a safe, positive, and structured learning environment that encourages independence and growth.
  • Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
  • Collect data and maintain accurate records on student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and required training sessions.
  • Use behavior support strategies and positive reinforcement to support student development and emotional regulation.
