JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Title I Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a passion for helping students with diverse learning needs. This role involves providing individualized instruction and support to students with learning challenges, ensuring they achieve their academic goals and develop essential life skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working with children with special learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and educational staff.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning specific to special education.
  • Familiarity with learning technologies that support diverse learners.
  • Must be Wilson or Orton-Gillingham trained
  • Position requires a Rhode Island teaching license/certification
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with students of varying abilities. We encourage individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs to apply for this rewarding position.
    Job Type: Contract
    Pay: $28.00 - $42.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

Responsibilities

  • Assist in classroom management and behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior among students.
