JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Title I Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and a passion for helping students with diverse learning needs. This role involves providing individualized instruction and support to students with learning challenges, ensuring they achieve their academic goals and develop essential life skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Experience working with children with special learning needs.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and educational staff.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design, and lesson planning specific to special education.
• Familiarity with learning technologies that support diverse learners.
• Must be Wilson or Orton-Gillingham trained
• Position requires a Rhode Island teaching license/certification

  Pay: $28.00 - $42.00 per hour
  Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

• Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique learning requirements.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring in subjects such as literacy, math, and other academic areas.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to work towards Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) goals for students.
• Utilize various teaching strategies to enhance learning experiences.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to ensure effective learning outcomes.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Assist in classroom management and behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior among students.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
