We are seeking a full-time Licensed Special Educator to provide individualized special education & behavioral services to underserved students with a history of trauma. East Valley Academy maintains a small classroom size not exceeding 6 students, and a maximum of 24 students in the program.In addition to the academic component, EVA utilizes a strengths-based, resiliency model that is highlighted within the adventure and experiential learning components of their programs.Responsibilities: Develop and implement special education curriculum with oversight of School Services Director. Work closely with classroom case managers, classroom clinicians, and clinical staff to assure quality and comprehensive supports are in place for students. Conducts risk assessment and make appropriate interventions.
Attends meetings with parents and team members regarding special education students and assist with IEP goal development. Assist and model appropriate problem-solving skills, social skills, life skills, and a healthy lifestyle. Provide IEP and 504 plan oversightVermont Licensure as a Special Educator with certifications to serve: Emotional Disability, Other Health Impairments, and Intellectual Disabilities is required.Clara Martin Center offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, there is a company match for HSA’s, a 403b retirement plan with a company match, and tuition reimbursement.
