JOB SUMMARY Chesterwood is the Gilded Age summer residence, studio, and gardens of American sculptor Daniel Chester French (1850-1931). The buildings on the 122-acre estate showcase a vast collection of sculptures, paintings, and furniture original to the estate; the landscape offers stunning mountain views, formal gardens, and woodland trails. Guided tours and educational programs highlight French’s life and artistic achievements while contemporary art is advanced through special exhibitions, such as the annual outdoor sculpture show, and artist residencies. Chesterwood also presents a robust performance series (ArtsAlive!) and events/programs for children. The Special Events Coordinator will play a key role in setting up and breaking down for events such as ArtsAlive! performances and weddings. This is a seasonal, part-time role with an hourly rate of $20 per hour. DUTIES * Coordinate all event needs including but not limited to furniture, AV, piano tuning, permits, reception support. * Set-up and break down facilities for events, following all safety procedures including proper lifting techniques. * Ensure the event facility is clean and organized before, during and after each event. * Properly store furniture, equipment and supplies after events. * Assist w/directing parking as needed. * Transport guests via golf cart as needed. * Assist with other site-related activities as needed. QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to lift and carry items of up to 50 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods. * Availability to: * Work part-time from June 1 – August 31, 2026 including weekdays, evenings and weekends; most shifts will be late afternoon into early evening. * Coordinate a handful of weekend events in September and October, * Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling. * Experience with AV and sound system set up is a plus. * Comfortable working in a public-facing environment.
