Description JOB SUMMARY: The Special Events Intern for the Business Development Department will play an important role in supporting, planning, and executing of key department events and activations for the Utah Jazz, Utah Mammoth, and Smith Entertainment Group. This internship will provide the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contribute to the organization’s success in the areas of corporate partnerships, ticket sales, youth programs, and employee relations. The right candidate will communicate well with internal teams, be creative and innovative in their approach, be a strong problem-solver, a quick learner, and pride themselves in being detail oriented. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the development, planning, and execution of various client facing business development and networking events. Help plan and execute weekly and monthly department activities and events Support the department coordinator and operations department in various tasks and responsibilities to improve department efficiency Shadow and learn from various department employees, learning about their daily responsibilities and supporting them in their work. Assist on various department research projects for the departments that will influence the decision making regarding department events and processes. Exemplify and demonstrate an attitude of inclusion, diversity, transparency, and continuous personal development. Support the Business Development department in all other tasks and needs. Accept other duties, as assigned. Position will be required to work minimum of 10 hours per week on average and maximum of 30 hours per week. QUALIFICATIONS: A hard-working, self-motivated person that strives to build and maintain relationships. Creative and assertive communication skills. Pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Ability to work a non-traditional schedule as sports and entertainment events may require, including extended days and hours, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally. This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess. This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time. This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
