We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Events Manager to join our team of talented professionals. The Special Events Manager is a dynamic and highly organized professional responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a wide range of events, from fundraising galas and special events to program-focused events. The Special Events Manager will ensure that every aspect of an event runs smoothly, meets objectives, and creates a memorable experience for attendees and raise appropriate funds when appropriate. Also coordinates sponsorship/table guests for any events sponsored by The Guidance Center. This role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure. Requirements At least an associate's degree with concentration in Event Management or other related field including Hospitality Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration. A minimum of 3 years of event planning experience, preferably working with nonprofits. Professional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) are a plus. May travel at the request of the agency in response to marketing, public relations or media activity; a current valid driver’s license with no negative history is therefore required.
