Our continued growth and success has created the need for a Special Hazards Technician working out of our Baltimore, Maryland office. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance, and limited troubleshooting on a variety of clean agent and special hazard suppression systems, including but not limited to FM-200, Inergen, CO₂, and NOVEC 1230. Key Responsibilities: Install, inspect, test, and maintain special hazard fire suppression systems, including but not limited to: Clean agent systems (e.g., FM-200, Novec 1230) CO₂ systems Foam suppression systems Water mist systems Explosion suppression or detection systems Verify proper system operation through functional and acceptance testing. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot system issues or deficiencies. Ensure all work complies with applicable NFPA codes (e.g., NFPA 2001, 12, 750), local regulations, and company standards. Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other trades on-site to support successful project execution. Document inspections, maintenance, and service activities in accordance with company and client requirements. Qualifications: Prior experience with FM-200, Inergen, CO₂, NOVEC 1230, or other clean agent systems Working knowledge of NFPA 12, 2001, and related standards NICET certification (Level I or higher in Special Hazards) preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including mechanical rooms and IT/data center spaces Hourly pay commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role. Expected salary range between $30.00 - $40.00 per hour.
