MCE’s Fayetteville, AR team is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician to perform inspection and testing services related to, but not limited to: soils, foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, fire proofing and post-tensioned concrete. Responsibilities * Review and understand project related drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes * Perform Special Inspections in the field for project document and code compliance * Perform routine and advanced field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standards * Document observations and inspections of construction including discrepancy notices for non-compliant items * Communicate effectively with MCE project staff and project construction team, as well as on-site contractors and code officials * Report inspections and test results through MCE’s field data collection software Qualifications * High School Diploma, GED, or Associate Degree * Three or more years of experience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt materials * Effective oral and written communication skills * Attention to detail * Willingness to work in varying weather conditions * Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.  Preferred * ACI Field Grade I Certification * CTTP certification (current or previous certification) * NICET Certifications and/or Post Tension Institute (PTI) Level I or II certifications * ICC Certifications (one or more of the following): * ICC Special Inspector General Requirements * ICC Soils * ICC Reinforced Concrete * ICC Structural Masonry * ICC Spray-Applied Fireproofing * ICC Structural Steel and Bolting MCE offers an excellent employee benefits package including: * Competitive compensation with yearly performance reviews. * 401(k) (Traditional & Roth plans) with a guaranteed employer match of 100% up to the first 3% and 50% on the next 2% (eligibility at beginning of the quarter following 3 months’ employment) * PTO (Paid Time Off) & 9 Paid Holidays * Tiered Health, Vision & Dental Insurance Options (eligibility after 30 days) * Short-Term Disability Insurance (MCE self-insured) * Long-Term Disability Insurance (Employer paid) * Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance * Flexible Spending Account & Limited Flexible Spending Account * HSA Savings Account * Additional Optional Insurances Available
