Description

The Special Legal Projects Officer (“SLPO”) is the principal support staff for the Executive Director of the Law Society and will report directly to the Executive Director. The SLPO will be required to have a strong legal background and will assist the Executive Director with special legal projects and strategic legal initiatives. The key responsibilities of the SLPO are as follows:

  • Provide skilled support to the Executive Director on a wide range of special legal projects and strategic legal initiatives, including their co-ordination, implementation and ongoing monitoring;
  • Conduct legal research for various legal initiatives and projects;
  • Plan and coordinate logistical support for all meetings relating to legal initiatives and projects;
  • Drafting reports, briefings, presentations and responses on issues relating to legal initiatives and projects as appropriate;
  • Take minutes for relevant meetings as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university (newly called lawyers will be considered)
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple and varied projects with different stakeholders
  • Strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills
  • Able to work proactively and independently
