As a Claims Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the overall Claims team and its daily operations. In this role you will be expected to work closely with your immediate colleagues, mainly Claims analysts, as needed to support daily administrative clerical functions from receipt and distribution of mail/email to digital imaging of documents. In this role you will need to come into the office 2-3 times a week. What you’ll accomplish with us As a Claims Assistant, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities: Screening/Distributing emails to various team members for actioning Sorting and scanning incoming mail for distribution to various team members for handling Printing completed correspondence from the Document Generation system for clients Preparing client documents for mailing with appropriate summary forms or other forms as required Searching the system for client information as it pertains to Returned Mail Calling clients for new address or new payment information, as required Emailing clients to reply to their inquiries Updating, verify status of cheque payment Set up new claims for specific products Actively listen and communicate with clients regarding basic requests Have keen sense of routine and organizational skills Be able to recognize (within set parameters) when to escalate tasks Demonstrate ability to work and communicate with other teams as well as within own team Demonstrate flexibility in switching tasks as required where more support may be required (for example during busier campaign periods) Demonstrate adaptability in changing or learning new processes Demonstrate gradual increase in knowledge and understating of role to the point of providing feedback and improvement suggestions What could accelerate your success in this role Is known for their excellent communication skills especially verbal Stands out for their organizational skills and ability to multi-task Demonstrates strong conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills Is recognized for being a strong team player and willing to work well with co-workers under pressure 2-3 years industry-related experience or in high volume customer service environment Has completed their post secondary education What would be an asset: Insurance industry experience Bilingual French both written and spoken Knowledge of medical terminology Charter of the French language clause to add if needed: (Beginner, intermediate, or advanced) level of English proficiency, as the role involves (list tasks) with (type of stakeholders, “who”) on a (frequency) basis. Responsibilities
As a Claims Assistant, you will support the Claims team by screening and distributing emails, sorting and scanning mail, and preparing client documents for mailing. You will also communicate with clients regarding their inquiries and assist with setting up new claims.
