Salary: £95–£100 per day

Are you a calm, resilient, and hands-on Special Needs Teaching Assistant – The Nest looking for a focused part-time role? A highly respected infant setting in the Barnet borough (NW7 postcode) is seeking two experienced individuals to support in its specialist provision, “The Nest”, during afternoons only.
Working with a small group of children with high-level needs, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a nurturing, well-equipped environment. Hours are from 12:15 until the end of the school day, allowing you to balance work with other commitments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience with complex SEN, especially non-verbal needs and ADHD
  • A patient, nurturing personality and confident use of calm behaviour strategies
  • Comfortable delivering personal care and working in intimate care settings
  • A current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant – The Nest, your role will involve:

  • Supporting children in a calm, nurturing setting
  • Implementing strategies to promote communication and reduce anxiety
  • Providing personal care, including changing, feeding, and mobility support where needed
  • Supporting children’s social and emotional development through play and sensory activities
  • Working closely with the SENCO and other staff to adapt provision as needed
