Description JOB SUMMARY: The Special Programs Director is responsible for supervising, leading, and motivating team members daily. The director is responsible for developing, implementing, and giving oversight to special programs including but not limited to: Positive Behavior Support Program, Family Case Management, Client Community Integration, Autism Works School Program, Therap Electronic Documentation System, Client Health & Wellness Initiative, Client Specialty Engagement Groups, Practicum Student Program, and other innovative initiatives. The director provides leadership in our core values by consistently delivering a high quality of professionalism, developing bold initiatives and exceptional customer service to clients and employees, and ensuring our services are always client focused. The position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by A New Leaf, Inc. Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide direct supervision to 5+ staff members plus any assigned interns. Responsible for the overall delivery and execution of A New Leaf, Inc.’s Positive Behavior Support Program and Autism Works School Program, ensuring all program services provided are focused on the specific needs of the individual clients and students served. Duties/Responsibilities: Performs other related duties as assigned to benefit the mission of the organization. Responsible for the management and oversight of the client; waiting lists, community integration, health & wellness initiatives, and specialty engagement groups. Responsible for the continued development and oversight of the agency’s electronic documentation program – Therap. Assure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations. Field Instructor for assigned interns. Facilitate small/medium size group training (4 to 15 people) on the Positive Behavior Support course curriculum for client direct support staff in the residential/vocational setting. Group training curriculum is 6 group training courses facilitated every 6 months which cover behavioral analysis, environmental modification, and data analysis. Develops and monitors the annual department budget to include all program revenues and expenses. The department has approximately 6 staff and 4 interns supporting over 80 Behavior Support clients, 200 Autism-Works students, and over 300 clients on the waiting list. Develop collaborative community partnerships with industry professionals. Develops ways to attract new clients/students to our programs through collaboration with state case managers, schools, other agency providers, and the community-at-large. Track and report on the department outcomes for all programs. Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of program/training program through continual monitoring and reporting. Establishes a positive relationship with staff, clients, vendors, schools, and funding agencies, ensuring the A New Leaf, Inc. Special Programs Department is always friendly and welcoming. Knowledge: Project Management Organizational Operations Budget & Financial Oversight Compliance & Risk Management Data and Performance Measurement Proficiency in all Microsoft programs; Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Skills: Critical Thinking Project Planning Cross Department Coordination Excellent Communication Problem Solving Change Management Meeting Facilitation Abilities: Strategic Thinking Organization & Time Management Decision Making Collaboration Adaptability Personal Attributes: Initiative Accountability Professionalism Reliability Leadership Required Skills/Abilities: Have and maintain a valid driver’s license, including dependable vehicle/transportation to and from work, and automobile insurance coverage at all times, to ensure you are eligible to operate company vehicles. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Work flexible schedule based on the those served by and the needs of A New Leaf, Inc., including but not limited to working scheduled evenings or weekends based on the department/event need. Expressed desire to work with as well as a positive attitude when working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism. Strong organizational skills and an ability to thrive and be productive equally in a team oriented or autonomous environment. Ability to clearly exemplify A New Leaf, Inc.’s Core Values of Client-Centered/Customer-Focused; Professionalism; Innovation; and Collaboration. Education and Experience: Master of Social Work Degree (MSW) or other Human Services preferred. Preferred two years’ related experience with progressive managerial responsibilities. Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or Autism preferred but not required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer/Prolonged period of standing, outdoor, and interactive activities. Bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 30lbs.
