Description Position Title: Special Projects Liaison Position start date: ASAP Status: Casual/Intermittent (approximately 19 hours/wk.), not benefits eligible Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, variable hours between 8:00am to 4:30pm Service/Division: VMRF – Core Work Location: VMRF Bldg. 13 Job Code: MS 1396 Salary: $45.00 - $50.00 Per hour The Special Projects Manager plays a critical role in advancing the mission of the non-profit organization by planning, coordinating, and executing high-priority, time-bound, and cross-functional initiatives. This role manages complex projects that may span operations, compliance, partnerships, data initiatives, and organizational improvements. The Special Projects Manager works closely with leadership and external partners (i.e. federal or state agencies, universities, etc.) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include any combination of the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Project Management & Execution: Responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of special projects from concept through implementation; develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies. · Stakeholder & Partner Coordination: Serve as a key liaison between internal teams, leadership, funders, consultants, and partner organizations; prepare clear and concise project updates, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders; facilitate meetings, document decisions, and ensure follow-up on action items. · Strategic & Operational Initiatives: Support organizational strategic initiatives, such as new program launches, process improvements, technology implementations, or compliance efforts; analysis, and benchmarking to inform leadership decision-making; draft policies, procedures, and project documentation as needed. · Compliance & Regulatory Support: Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to nonprofit operations; coordinate documentation and reporting related to audits, reviews, or monitoring activities; identify compliance risks within assigned projects and escalate concerns to leadership as appropriate. Requirements Advanced degrees, MD, PhD, MS degree in a relevant field. Experience working in a nonprofit organization. Familiarity with compliance, or data governance. Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification. Experience working with cross-sector partners (academic, government, or community-based organizations).
