Reviews Athena daily to ensure claim submission accuracy and payer acceptance. Communicates with patients and physician offices regarding outstanding claims and works to resolve billing issues efficiently.   Reports to: Director of Physician Services FLSA Status: Non-exempt   Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma required License: N/A Certifications: N/A   Required Skills: * Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment  * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  * Ability to perform effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action  * Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards (including HIPAA)  * Understanding of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices  * Skilled in applying policies and procedures    Essential Functions: * Perform accounts receivable follow-up for assigned providers  * Review Athena system daily for claim submission status and payer acceptance  * Communicate with patients and physician offices regarding billing and outstanding claims  * Ensure timely resolution of claim issues    Non-Essential Functions: 1. Serve internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, clients, contractors, and vendors  2. Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately  3. Demonstrate understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory standards  4. Perform other duties as assigned    Travel Requirements: Minimal to none   Additional Notes: Lead coder for Central Kentucky market.
