Responsibilities

SO WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

  • Lead on and be a specialist in cases around Hate Crime and provide robust Sexual Violence casework support to colleagues in the team. Also be a point of contact for colleagues who need advice in this area.
  • Be the go-to person for our diverse student community and support students through a range of issues, particularly hate crime, sexual violence, domestic abuse, harassment and stalking.
  • Promote a message of no tolerance to hate, bullying and harassment or sexual violence of any kind to the wider university community including Student Union.
  • Help to create policy and guidance that reflects this message.
  • Work with external and internal partners, to develop improved ways of working together.
  • Contribute to our thinking and be challenging on how Salford can transform the way it addresses equity disparities, embraces diversity and becomes more inclusive.
The role requires interaction with students from different cultural backgrounds and with that in mind, it is important that you have experience of working with diverse backgrounds whether that is through your previous work history or in your personal life.
