We are also looking for someone who has a strong commercial mindset to provide high quality and timely services, and is a good teammate with dedication, eagerness to learn and strong collaboration skills.   About The Team   The Bangalore (BLR) Facultative Team is a strategic offshore operating hub responsible for providing single risk facultative underwriting support to Swiss Re Asia Pacific markets across Property and Casualty lines of business. The Hub will work closely with the overseas facultative desk underwriters to provide underwriting support on casualty risks of normal to medium complexity risks.   You will get in-depth exposure to Swiss Re’s proprietary underwriting practices, risk model platforms, costing tools as well as an opportunity to work with Swiss Re's overseas underwriters! Depending upon your inclination and skills, over time you will have the opportunity to widen your roles in multiple areas. In addition to your regular responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects of strategic importance to Swiss Re Group.       Key responsibilities   Provide high quality underwriting support to overseas underwriting desks for Swiss Re Asia Pacific markets (Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Southeast Asia, India & India sub-continent, Australia and New Zealand), which will include but not limited to: Internal underwriting support and risk assessment according to underwriting guidelines of normal to medium complexity casualty single risks Operating within the Swiss Re's Legal and Permanent Establishment and regulatory framework Costing / risk modelling / pricing support on facultative single-risk contracts and underwriting documentation Risk modeling and assessment in collaboration with desk underwriters, including location footprint capture, if required Underwriting analytics support on single risks, facilities and SwiftRe (on-line platform) business, as required Support on offer preparation/drafting, wording/conditions review Review of risk engineering reports and supporting any validation requests Ad hoc projects driven by Underwriting or cross-functional teams Suggest improvements to existing models and tools, and provide ad-hoc support on projects driven by Cross functional teams Maintain the defined quality and turnaround time for case assessment Establishes & maintains positive relationships with internal partners Identify & resolve service issues with internal clients /stakeholders Prepare statistical client/region specific reports and share strategic inputs/solutions with internal partners   About You/ Qualifications   Postgraduate/graduate degree in the field of natural science or a quantitative field (e.g., engineering, statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics) which is closely related to these subject areas Professional qualification in insurance e.g. CII, an added advantage Competent in Casualty re/insurance underwriting, single-risk assessment, risk modelling and contract preparation, with 6 to 8 years of relevant Underwriting experience Experience in facility / portfolio underwriting analytics an added advantage Strong understanding of underwriting techniques, methods, tools and processes Good knowledge of re-insurance/insurance underwriting Ability to analyze large data sets, investigate complex connections and draw meaningful conclusions. Excellent oral and written English skills Strong motivation to learn about re/insurance and overseas markets Good teammate, able to collaborate across teams in a multi-cultural and matrix environment Taking ownership, proactive problem-solving aptitude & innovative approach Customer focused and possess a commercial mindset. Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
