ABOUT THE ROLE This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) on a nine-day fortnight roster. Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night. Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site. As the Specialist Category you will be responsible for delivering strategic category management that secures value, performance and resilience across South32’s supply portfolio. Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to: Developing robust sourcing plans and strategies through early, collaborative engagement. Executing best practice markets engagements, negotiations and contract execution to achieve optimal outcomes. Strengthening supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation and responsible procurement. Monitoring supply risk and supporting effective contract management across operations. ABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: Building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners. Navigating complex commercial issues with sound judgement and clear communication. Leading negotiations with confidence, care and a solutions-focused mindset. Driving continuous improvement and value creation across categories and contracts. Qualifications for this position are: A bachelor’s degree or post-secondary studies in commerce, supply chain, law or a related discipline. MCIPS is advantageous.
