The successful candidate will be working a mixture of on-site and off-site work at 1800 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa, Ontario based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. DESIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • A University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
  • A minimum of four years of progressive experience in Human Resources including planning, implementing and maintaining large-scale HR programs. A minimum of two years supporting Compensation and Job Evaluation programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, design, lead and manage complex Compensation initiatives/projects.
  • A thorough understanding of Total Rewards practices as well as subject matter expertise in compensation and job evaluation and knowledge of related legislative requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to analyze complex data sets and make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated strong oral, written and presentation skills in English are essential to clearly convey compensation policies and changes to employees and management.
  • Strong business acumen and influencing skills and the ability to prioritize business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, and in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to effectively work with both internal and external customers and with Third Party Service Providers.

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-Time Specialist, Compensation to join our dynamic Total Rewards team in our People, Culture and Performance division in Ottawa, Ontario.
Our Total Rewards team designs and manages programs and practices that reflect and reinforce our organization’s commitment to attracting, motivating, and retaining talented, engaged, and productive employees.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Total Rewards, you will play a significant role in planning, designing, managing, communicating and implementing effective compensation programs, including salary structures, performance pay, job evaluation and related projects and policies. Your focus is on supporting the Total Rewards needs of the business that support our Employee Value Proposition by providing solutions to attract, retain, motivate and engage employees, and promote organization citizenship among employees.
